Julia Larmer – Counsellor
“I am a Qualified Integrative Counsellor, with a private practice in Hazel Grove. I provide counselling support to the PSP group and offer counseling to any member of the PSP group who feels it would be beneficial.
Alongside private practice, I have worked for a counselling charity for 3 years working with adults. I have experienced a variety of client work including depression, post-natal depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, bereavement and relationship issues. I have seen how clients have benefited from counselling and seen increased confidence, self-esteem and well being, improved relationships and better coping skills for the future. As I continue to develop professionally, I am gaining skills and experience working with children and young people. I volunteer within a primary school, supporting children with building confidence and self-esteem.
I believe that all therapy is very personal and has to fit with you, therefore my primary focus is always to work with your interests at the forefront. This means that I work in a very caring, conscientious and safe manner to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit possible and understand everything that is going to happen and why.
Prior to counselling, I worked in a range of successful business roles that I enjoyed, but found myself searching for a vocation that I was truly passionate about. I wanted a vocation that I could continually progress with and that had a genuine purpose. I wanted to do something that I felt had a positive contribution and to enjoy what I was doing”.
